The Softball Marathon event was played annually in Austin, Texas from the 1980's to 1998. Many teams competed and had a day of fun in the sun while helping people with disabilities reach their potential through the innovative programs offered by Easter Seals-Central Texas.
The event will be revived in 2005 by Easter Seals-Central Texas and The Wright House Wellness Center. The Wright House Wellness Center provides services to improve the lives of people living with HIV/AIDS, Cancer, and Hepatitis C through complementary therapies, education and compassion.
Teams will play three-hour marathon games on a Saturday in late Summer and go away with the satisfaction of having a great day of fun and knowing their participation in the event helped others.
