James L. Edwards is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a master's degree in counseling and a master's degree in divinity from Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia. His undergraduate work was at Concordia Lutheran College in Austin, Texas where he obtained a B.A. in Behavioral Science. His experience includes work as a therapist, clinical supervisor and case manager in a variety of settings. In outpatient settings he has worked as a therapist and Christian Counselor. He has also worked as a therapist and clinical supervisor in residential and foster care programs. His pastoral work includes three units of Clinical Pastoral Education, Association of Exchanged Life Ministry Advanced Training, and serving as a pastor, pastoral counselor and chaplain. J.L.'s interests and experience include individual, group, marriage, premarital, and family counseling addressing a variety of spiritual, emotional and mental health issues. Much of his practice has been devoted to strengthening individuals, couples and families by helping them reach their full potential through the application of biblical principles to life situations.
James currently practices at San Gabriel Psychological Services, Inc. in Round Rock, Texas. There he continues to work with individuals, couples and families to help them reach their full potential in Christ. His commitment to marriage as a God-ordained institution is the foundation of his practice and the reason he has worked with the Redeemed Relationship team in establishing a ministry designed to promote God's plan for marriage.
